Diagnostic Methods

The basis of a nutrition and exercise therapy consists of a differentiated analysis of nutritional behaviour, nutritional status, physical fitness, body composition and muscle strength. In case of a suspected food intolerance, additional tests must be carried out.

In our Centre, the body composition, energy turnover, physical activity, various functional parameters (e.g. strength analyses of various muscle groups, hand strength, gait analysis) as well as laboratory chemical nutrition parameters can be determined. Furthermore, a PC-supported analysis of the current nutrient uptake is available. Special allergy and intolerance tests (skin tests, blood tests, allergy tests on the intestinal mucosa) as well as breath tests during gastric emptying time and pancreatic function are performed according to clinical indication.

On the basis of the examination results, a targeted nutritional therapy tailored to the individual patient and, if indicated, an additional exercise and sports therapy can be planned and adapted in the course of the examination in order to achieve the best possible therapy goal.
