Exercise and sports therapy

The exercise and sports therapy is individually adapted to the physical constitution and the present illness. Muscle strength, endurance, coordination, mobility, stability and balance can be effectively trained using various machines (including biofeedback), cardio devices, sling trainers, Posturomed and other small devices.

Additionally, we offer the possibility of a whole-body electromyostimulation training (WB-EMS). WB-EMS can also be used to train patients with limited physical fitness who are unable to perform conventional training to improve physical strength with the required intensity and regularity. With this training method, the large muscle groups can be built up effectively and without great physical and orthopedic strain.

The training measures described do not only counteract progressive muscle loss, but also have a positive influence on the disease process and increase the quality of life.

After completion of the oncological therapy, we offer the possibility of further sports programmes for recurrence prevention. The training therapy in the Hector-Centre is carried out under expert guidance and supervision by specially qualified sports scientists and physiotherapists as well as under medical supervision.
