About the lab

We study mechanisms by which the disruption of homeostasis leads to chronic inflammation and tumor development. Specifically, our work focuses on pathogen-host interactions that support pro-inflammatory cytokine production and the mechanisms by which these in turn promote inflammatory bowel disease. Furthermore, we aim to understand the molecular switches controlling the balance between the resolution of inflammation with mucosal healing and the unresolved inflammation with its progression to colon cancer.
